Marc R. Mayberg, M.D.
Co-Director and Neurosurgeon
Dr. Mayberg is medical co-director of the Seattle CyberKnife Center.
Board-certified in neurological surgery, Dr. Mayberg's clinical
interests include pituitary surgery, skull base surgery, minimally
invasive microsurgery and stereotactic radiosurgery. He has a special
interest in the treatment of cerebrovascular diseases such as
aneurysms, stroke and carotid surgery, skull base tumors and Arnold
Chiari malformations.
Dr. Marc Mayberg is co-director of the Seattle Neuroscience Institute
at Swedish Medical Center. He was previously chairman of the
Department of Neurological Surgery at The Cleveland Clinic in
Cleveland, Ohio, one of the largest and most diverse neurosurgical
programs in the country. Prior to joining The Cleveland Clinic in
1998, Dr. Mayberg was a professor of neurological surgery at the
University of Washington, School of Medicine.
The author of more than 200 scientific papers and book chapters and
two textbooks, Dr. Mayberg is on the editorial boards for numerous
peer-reviewed journals including Stroke, Neurosurgery, Journal of
Neurovascular Disease, Journal of Stroke and Cerebrovascular Disease,
Journal of Surgical Research and The Stroke Interventionalist.
A graduate of the Mayo Medical School in Rochester, Minn., Dr.
Mayberg completed his residency in neurosurgery at Massachusetts
General Hospital in Boston and was awarded the prestigious Van
Wagenen fellowship, which he completed at the National Hospital for
Nervous Diseases in London.
